Abstract
Introduction: Hypertension is the cause of 45% of deaths from heart disease and 51% of deaths from stroke. Hypertension is a serious problem for injection contraceptive users for family planning program users. On the other hand, coffee leaves have the potential to reduce hypertension because they contain alkaloids, caffeine, saponins, flavonoids, and polyphenols that can prevent various carcinogenic diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of coffee leaf boiled water on the blood pressure conditions of family planning injection contraceptive recipients.
Research Method: The research was conducted at the clinic belonging to midwife Eliza Bestari Sinaga in January 2020, the method in this study previously conducted a coffee leaf laboratory test, and used a quantitative type method using an experimental test approach. Blood pressure before giving coffee leaf boiled water to the 3-months injection family planning acceptors.
Results: It was found that the stage value of the respondents before being given coffee leaf boiled water, most of the highest stage was on stage 3 as many as 22 people (73.3%),%), on stage 4 there were 6 people (20%), a small part was on stage 2 only 2 people (6.7%). The results showed that the stage value of the respondents after being given boiled water of coffee leaves was mostly in stage 2 as many as 28 people (93.3%), a small proportion was on stage 1 only 2 people (6.7%).
Conclusion: The results showed that there was an effect of coffee leaf boiled water on decreasing blood pressure on family planning contraceptive acceptors at Eliza Bestari Sinaga Clinic.
