Glioblastoma Multiforme in Infancy: A Case Report

Abstract
Brain tumours are the most common solid tumours in children, and, unfortunately, many subtypes continue to have a suboptimal long-term outcome. Due to recent advancements in surgical, radiation and chemotherapy, the management of these tumours has improved the survival rates of children with medulloblastoma and low-grade glioma (LGG), for which 5-year survival now exceeds 75%, the prognosis for other tumours such as diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) and other midline high-grade gliomas (HGGs) however remains poor(15%).
Here we report a case of Glioblastoma multiform (GBM) that was located deep in the Left cerebellopontine angle region of an 11month old infant. The reason for reporting this case is that the age of presentation is quite unusual for this lesion.
